Other than traffic generation, there is another important activity that every internet marketer should indulge in if he wants to make money. It is called list building which is simply building a list of subscribers who agree to receive your promotional emails.
“The money is in the list.” You will keep hearing this all the time. The gurus swear by it as bigger the list the more money you make.
As an internet marketer, you must have a list of targeted subscribers to whom you can regularly send information about the products that you are promoting, whether they are other people’s products or your own.
So how can you build a list ? I shall provide links to list building courses and programs below and before that I shall briefly explain it.
So first you need to concentrate on traffic generation and once they visit your website, you should be able to offer them some useful information free of charge in return for their name and email address.
Begin by getting some information products together so that you have items to attract people to your lists. Since people are constantly bombarded with ads daily, you would want to attract them to your website with your own useful freebies and special offers.
For this you will be placing what is called an opt-in form on your website. This form will be connected to software called an auto-responder which will capture the visitors details and send him the link to the information he wants automatically.
This is managed through a system called double opt-in by which the visitor has to click a confirmatory link sent to him before he receives the link to the free ebook or information. This is to ensure that it is indeed the visitor himself who provided the details in the opt-in form.
The names and email addresses thus collected are maintained in your auto-responder account. You can then send them regular product offers. Ensure that you offer only quality products that you yourself would buy or try and not just any junk that you come across.
As they are provided with an unsubscribe option in the email that is sent to them, if you don’t hold their interest with good products or the information they are looking for, they will soon unsubscribe from your list, which simply means that you won’t be able to send them any more offers.
