I am sure that anyone who surfs the internet knows what a blog is. Anyway, for the benefit for those who don’t, blog is the short form for weblog, a shared on-line journal where people can post diary entries about their personal experiences and hobbies.
Though the above is how blogs originated, nowadays blogs are monetized with affiliate links to make money from the internet.
This is why it is important for a newbie to set up his own blog or blogs to make money. I shall provide below links to the resources you can use to become a successful blogger.
The following is a suggested sequence of action you should take.
1. Decide on which niche you are going to promote.
2. Find a keyword rich domain name related to that niche
3. Register your domain.
4. Host your domain
5. Setup WordPress software
6. Add your chosen theme to WordPress blog
7. Add the required plugins
8. Add content
9. Place affiliate links and the products you have chosen to sell
10. Setup an autoresponder to connect to you blog
11. Get traffic to your blog.
This broadly is what you would be doing to get your content rich monetized blog on the internet.

Setting up WP is very easy and automated. And there are very good video tutorials about installing WP. Ensure that you host your domain with a hosting company that provides cpanel to administer your blog/website.
In cpanel, there is a program called Fantastico with which you can set up your WP blog within seconds with just a few clicks.

Theme selection
WP will provide only their basic template and so we have to choose a theme (template) which matches our niche and has the functionalities that we need.
It used to be a big problem in the past to obtain a suitable theme but now all that has changed.
